Over time, the Marriott Academy WordPress website became increasingly fragile due to a reliance on numerous legacy plugins — many of which were no longer maintained or supported.

These plugins frequently conflicted with each other and with theme updates, leading to issues such as broken forms, layout inconsistencies, and sporadic downtime. The site required frequent developer intervention for even minor updates, making each change both costly and time-consuming.

Moreover, outdated plugins introduced security vulnerabilities that compromised site reliability and exposed the platform to potential risks. This dependency created a significant operational burden, diverting resources away from strategic enhancements and undermining the site's ability to scale effectively.

To resolve these challenges, ALF Design Group executed a full site migration from WordPress to Webflow, recreating all content, layouts, and pages from scratch eliminating the need for any legacy plugins.

The fresh Webflow build included a responsive, redesigned user interface aligned with Marriott Academy’s brand evolution. With Webflow’s native tools, all functionality previously handled by plugins—such as site forms, navigation, and content management—became integrated into the platform.

After launch, the new Webflow site earned 90+ scores across all four Google PageSpeed Insights metrics, signaling a substantial boost in performance and SEO readiness.

Page load times improved by approximately 30%, enhancing user experience and increasing the likelihood of higher conversion rates. With no requirement for plugin updates or maintenance, the client now avoids regular developer fees and security patching headaches.

Routine content changes are performed in-house via Webflow, dramatically cutting ongoing operational costs and freeing internal resources to focus on business growth rather than technical upkeep.
