When we were approached by Lavieloo in early January, one of their marketing campaign was to gain pre-signups before their actual Kickstarter campaign starts. They would be giving out special discounts to those who signed up and then support their Kickstarter campaign.

The only problem was, they wanted to launch their Kickstart campaign in March.

Experience in the web design industry has taught us to reorganize and restrategize to gain maximum output.

The first thing that we needed to do was to talk to some users just to gain some insights on the product that Lavieloo is trying to sell.

Getting leverage on users' insights

First of all, we need to understand Lavieloo's product.

For starters, Lavieloo has always been an advocate for sustainability and eco-friendly products. For this product, they focus on a few things.

  1. Easy and clear access to their pet rabbit's poo.
  2. Safe environment for the rabbit to go to the "toilet".
  3. Using of rabbit's poo as fertilizers

From the initial research phase, we found that there are two types of users that match the description for the product that Lavieloo is selling.

  1. Primary User - Parents' with bunnies (easy maintenance of their litter)
  2. Secondary User - Users who understands the benefit of rabbit's poo

We find that these insights are useful for us to come up with a tagline explains what their product can do. And based on these, we were also able to figure out who are the primary users that might find this product to be useful for them. You might be wondering why the roles are reversed and that we are targeting more for the average users.

It's simple actually.

The secondary users who already know the benefits of rabbit's poo do not need to rely on new types of litterbox. They know what needs to be done. The primary users could be parents who has kids who has bunnies! And taking care of a pet usually and ultimately, boils down to teaching the kids on how to properly care for the bunny which includes the everyday cleaning of the little bunny house.

No longer do they need to scoop out rabbit's poo amidst the layer of soiled grass etc.

Before this, we had no idea that rabbit's poo is one of the sought after fertilizers for plants particularly those indoor-type plants.

Some of the benefits of rabbit's poo include:-

  1. Odourless
  2. Full of nutrients
  3. Slow release of nutrients to the plants

Cooking up the wireframes

Getting the right structure is important when designing the wireframes. With proper content and brand messaging, it can definitely work wonders for your website. Before we start embarking on the wireframes, we work collaboratively on Figma with the client to guide us in terms on content. We do not like to design blindly based on feelings.

With good processes and establishing the good UX practices by the industry experts, we are able to come up with a design that can maximise output.

Following the brand guidelines

Let's face it. We don't know what we don't know. So we rely on other sources to come up with the brand guidelines. Working with brand agencies gives us many insights as to how the brand can capture the audience's attention in a limited time span.

And not forgetting to create a seamless design and experience for the end users.

Time for the high fidelity designs

This is indeed one of the most exciting part of our process. Bringing the wireframes to life!

Adding their accented colours to create importance to certain sections are key areas that every designer needs to know and understand. Each colour plays an important role when learning about website design.

Conclusion

If you want to know more about Lavieloo, you can go to their website or if you are someone with a bunny and find their product useful, you can support them.

We will be talking about how our process on Webflow will look like on the next article.

A key takeaway that we would like to impart is that design needs to be done iteratively. There is never a fixed design that is perfect. It needs tweaking and sometimes a little bit of outside influence to get that right balance between a visually stunning website and a website that converts.

At Al-Faiz Design Group, we work together closely with our clients to achieve both.

With that being said, you can drop us a message or schedule a call with our consultant. But if you already have an existing website that needs some design audit, you can click the link here and send us your website URL.
