Using AI for Web Design in 2024
Current technology and trends allows us designers to be using AI for web design in 2024
To stay relevant, many web design companies are incorporating AI into their workflows and offerings.
When we got to know that Webflow had acquired Intellimize, we thought that it was just a matter of time. We were surprised that it didn't happen sooner.
While everyone is saying not to let AI take over your jobs, we find that having AI helps a lot in our day to day work.
Empowering our web design team.
There are specific tools that offer different type of capabilities that web designers like us need. We leverage on different AI tools to streamline our design process and improve efficiency.
Although AI is powerful, we feel that AI still needs that human touch to enable its greatness. Constantly looking to tweak and finetune our prompts makes us better thinkers.
Creating Stylescapes
With the demand of creating awesome visuals on the rise, we need to be more creative in showing our clients what their website can look like.
Focusing on their brand messaging and the type of visuals that they are looking for, we are able to create some sort of a stylescape that we are able to apply to the high fidelity mockups. When AI wasn't involved, it took us forever to curate inspirations from the internet and putting them on our designs.
Tools like Midjourney has increased our productivity by at least 25%-30%.
Content Creation
Doing that "lorem ipsum.." seems to be an old thing of the past. And to us, it's just a lazy way of putting things together. With "real content", we feel that we can design better.
There were so many instances in our web design projects, that after handoff, when content is being added, the design on Webflow looks nothing like our Figma file. And that frustrates us a lot.
So what we did was to ensure that all "lorem ipsum" texts were removed and replaced with proper content. Tools like ChatGPT or Claude are extremely useful in these situations.
In Summary
Additionally, web design companies are focusing more on providing value-added services that complement the capabilities of AI tools. This might include services such as custom design solutions, advanced UX/UI design, branding consultancy, and tailored digital marketing strategies. By offering specialized expertise and personalized solutions, web design companies can differentiate themselves from AI tools and provide added value to their clients.
Moreover, there's an increasing emphasis on the human element in web design. While AI can automate certain aspects of the design process, human creativity, intuition, and understanding of client needs remain invaluable. Web design companies that can effectively blend AI-driven automation with human expertise are likely to thrive in this evolving landscape.
